EVENTS & COMMUNITY

Where speech therapy meets the community.

Classes, support groups, workshops, and presentations — most of them free or low cost, all of them in Anacortes.

Breakthrough Speech is rooted in this community. Beyond individual clinical care, that means showing up with resources, education, and programs that help people and their families navigate neurological conditions, aging, and communication challenges together.

Community Events

HOW IT WORKS

A structured arc, not a loop of generic brain games.

1. Comprehensive Evaluation

A baseline cognitive screening plus a self-report memory questionnaire, so your plan is built around where you’re actually starting — not a guess.

2. Structured Training

A personalized program binder and memory notebook, education on modifiable risk factors, a novel-and-challenging exercise routine targeting multiple cognitive domains, and skill-building in executive function (organization, time management, planning), attention strategies, working memory, and name recall.

3. Review & Re-Evaluation

A final session to review what’s working, troubleshoot what isn’t, and refine your strategies — followed by re-evaluation using the same measures from your first session, so progress is visible, not just assumed.
